Ethical Approval Statement Policy
The Eurasian Journal of Science and Engineering (EAJSE) requires that all research involving human participants, animals, or sensitive data comply with recognized ethical standards. Authors must include a clear statement of ethical approval in their manuscripts to ensure transparency and adherence to ethical principles.
- Human Participants
- Research involving human subjects must be conducted in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki and any applicable national or institutional guidelines.
- Authors must obtain informed consent from all participants or, in the case of minors or vulnerable populations, from legal guardians.
- Manuscripts must include a statement confirming approval by an appropriate Institutional Review Board (IRB) or Ethics Committee, including the name of the approving body and reference/approval number if available.
- Animal Research
- Studies involving animals must follow internationally recognized guidelines, such as those of the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) or equivalent.
- Authors should provide a statement detailing ethical approval and the measures taken to ensure animal welfare.
- Sensitive Data and Materials
- Research using confidential, sensitive, or proprietary data must comply with ethical and legal standards for data protection.
- Authors must include a statement confirming that ethical guidelines were followed in handling, storing, and reporting such data.
- Manuscript Requirements
- The ethical approval statement should appear in the Methods or Ethics Statement section of the manuscript.
- If ethical approval was not required (e.g., for publicly available data or non-human studies without risk), authors should provide a brief explanation.
- Editorial Responsibility
- Manuscripts lacking an appropriate ethical approval statement may be returned to authors or rejected.
- The editorial team reserves the right to request supporting documentation to verify compliance with ethical standards.
