    Abstract

The construction industry has suffered from low production and improvement, as well as a high level of waste, and the same is true for Kurdistan-Iraq. Many methods have been used to solve these problems and improve project performance, one of them is Lean management, which has shown a lot of benefits and improvement in the overall performance of the industry. This research investigates the application of Lean management and identifies the barriers to the application of this system, which will aid in improving the application of lean management in this region. The questionnaire method was used for this purpose and was designed to be filled out by all engineers. According to the findings, the top three barriers to Lean management implementation in Kurdistan-Iraq are a lack of training (0.0985), unskilled workers and a low level of labor education (0.0811), and limited usage of off-site construction techniques (0.0717).
